How Not To Be in Lackluster Creativity

When it’s not all about creative block. But how you look at things, where you are at the moment.

So you’ve been writing for quite a while. And your trail has stopped. For whatever reason. And you can’t afford to miss out on deadlines. How do you cope?

As a writer, the outdated excuse has always been creative block.

But reaching a point of maturity that goes beyond the adulting stage of millennials, the wanton abandon of creativity happens when one stops learning.

Learning beyond books and school. And learning about life.

Lackluster creativity happens when one has been stuck in a rut of same-old, same-old vibe or writing style. Which every writer can be guilty of, regardless of what industry or profession one belongs to.

Challenge a newbie writer to write about a certain topic. And then challenge an older writer to write about the same topic. And I can say, the perspectives are different. And not the writing style that can define or distinguish both.

The younger one may fall under the trend of doing things as popular will would be.

To write with standards and form, and probably measure. While an older writer might have forgotten the rules, or simply dare to break them.

Whichever the case, writing just like schooling, is a constant process of ebb and flow; of learning and re-learning.

Hence the need to look at the things around us. For some breeze of inspiration, or a yearning to be different.

Writing is not just a task, even if you do write for a living.

Writing must have breadth and beat which cannot be stopped even by expectations and submissions.

Submissions to standards can make one an excellent writer. But conforming to a wave of creativity can avoid a lackluster writing style; and give one a reason to go on further, wherever writing leads.

Let me know how writing helps you. Or what kind of writing inspires you.
